Srinagar, Aug 26: A 5-day training programme on organic farming “Certification & Internal Control System Management” began today.
The programme is being organized by Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India, in collaboration with Joint Directorate of Agriculture (Ext) Kashmir at Lalmandi Srinagar.
As many as 22 officers from all the districts of the valley participate in the training programme.
The programme was inaugurated by the Director Agriculture Kashmir Mushtaq Peerzada.
Speaking on the occasion he said that due to the excessive use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides the environment has been polluted to a great extent and soil health has also been deteriorated.
